PDFCreator - Essential Software Selection

If you find yourself in a situation to create PDF documents quickly and free of charge, I will recommend PDFCreator.

PDFCreator allows easy creation of PDFs from any Windows application. Use it like a printer, in Word, Internet Explorer (great to print bank statements, travel bookings) or even Visual Studio (if you need to print your source code). It even allows you to set security and file settings! Great stuff, essential software for every PC.

Remember always RTFM or put it politely: read the readme file to select the appropriate version to download :)

I know that in office 12 or 2007 you can create PDF very simple. If you push "Save as..." you will be able to choose in what kind of format do you like to save: PDF or XPS or in other format.

unfortunately saving doc or other files to PDF is no longer going to be in the final release of Office 2007 only as a download, and I think Bernard knows of this too.

Yes, there have been issues between Microsoft and Adobe regarding that matter.
