My 2006 SEA-LAS-TPE Vacation

Recently I was on vacation to Seattle, Las Vegas and Taipei. It was a great trip as I had caught up with many friends and fav Microsoft bloggers for chats in Redmond in person. I was also able to attend the campus Vista RTM party too!

It was interesting finally meet some of the bloggers especially those I had interact on a regularly on electronic basis. It's like we had known each other for awhile but still this is the first occasion we are meeting in person:)

Midway, I made a trip to Las Vegas, flew on US Airways (just for FF miles sake) and stayed in the Luxor. Vegas was an eye opener and my highlight was the O Show at the Bellagio. I have never paid so much for a show in my life but this show was exceptional.

During my last week in Seattle, I stayed over with my friend - JK and his family (Ingunn and Bobby). JK had just moved to Seattle to start his new career as a Program Manager in the Tablet PC team. During that week, I made new friends too including Andre who was an intern last summer and now SDET. JK and Ingunn were excellent hosts and made me feel right at home. I did my fair share of the "household chores" too! I walked Bobby and cleaned up after he made his "deposit". It was all good!

On my way back to Sydney, I had a stop over in Taipei where I caught up with my other good friend - LJ. I knew LJ initially through theSpoke since then, we had met up in Singapore and India for the Imagine Cup. LJ is also a new hire for MS TW and we are now Academic counterparts in this region. Taipei is every food lover's gastronomical dream. I am still savouring mentally the exceptional fried spicy fresh shitake mushrooms I had in Jiu Fen till this day.

This had been a very productive, educational and enjoyable trip. Still, I'm glad to make it back safe and sound in Australia.

I divided my photos into the 3 albums - Seattle (10), Las Vegas (12) and Taipei (10) and uploaded them on my Live Space. I look forward to everyone's comments on the photos.

Sounds like a really great trip. My wife and I will be staying at the Luxor this coming week on vacation.

I don't recommend the dinner buffet at the Luxor, it's cheap but I think you can get better value elsewhere. The Bellagio is pretty good base on what I see on the printed menu.

The swimming pool is pretty nice :)

Hey, you were only an 12 hour (drive) from me and Telligent here in Dallas, Texas. Doh!

Glad you had fun Bernard. Interesting building structures in Taipei. :)

Thanks for the recommendation, Eric. I must start saving now for my next tour. TX should be interesting. Flying to the US from Aus takes a lot out of you, both physical and monetary.

Well this has been a longer time than usual for me to go without blogging. My wife and I took a vacation...
